Published in 1984, is a book of memories about places, people, events and situations MEETING by Enzo Biagi, when he was a special correspondent in many parts of the world.
On his idea of \u200b\u200btravel and the opportunities that life offers us says "I discovered that many streets do not lead anywhere and that all paths are similar. Your experience is not useful for others: it is a coin that one can spend. Ad una certa ora qualcosa di straordinario può accadere ovunque, anche in una baracca, in mezzo al deserto. Basta saper guardare".
Ma il libro non è solo un araccolta di viaggi o di fatti, si può scovare a tratti anche qualcosa del lato umano di Biagi, come il suo rapporto con Dio e con la spiritualità in generale:
"La spiegazione più accettabile della presenza di Dio, la sentii da un bambino "Dio viene col vento". Budda, Maometto, Confucio, mi vanno tutti bene: ho visto recitare rosari a Pompei come a Kyoto: in Giappone i grani erano più grossi. Chi è in lutto da noi veste nero; i cinesi di bianco. Un'indiana versava nel Gange latte e petali di rosa; da noi si asperge acqua santa e si burning incense.
especially interesting is the first part of the book which speaks of famous Italian personalities: from Montanelli De Gasperi, from Amendola to Ignazio Silone (to which he confesses that he always had a kind of awe).
He then goes on to talk about his adventures working in the United States, Budapest, Moscow, Rome and Paris, London and Berlin.
A series of opportunities and interviews with people in the entertainment, politics but also to ordinary people, of throughout Europe and beyond.
Among the most important meetings he described at the end, the one with whom Fellini had a deep friendship that both Fellini Biagi confided to the point of death "fall in love again once, and Mastroianni.
A book I recommend to read, even if he can be labeled as "heavy" (at least my friends so they are expressed), but that leaves something after reading it, there is no history of ' Italy, there is the human side of people he meets, there is a will to pass even the smells of the places that the author has visited.

In that regard, I take this opportunity to recall the gesture that left Maria Luisa Busi la conduzione del TG1 perchè non si riconosceva più nella testata giornalistica. Lo ricordo perchè spesso questo genere di cose finiscono nel dimenticatoio. Credo dovremmo avere più coscienza e memoria di sacrifici e gesti coraggiosi come questo.
Chiudo la parentesi moralista per dirvi questa curiosità: nel 2008 fu anche istituito il "Premio Nazionale Enzo Biagi" e fu vinta la prima edizione da Roberto Saviano. Riflettendoci Saviano, rispecchia a pieno lo spirito e l'idea che aveva Biagi del fare informazione e nelle trasparenza in tv e sui giornali.
